Generally,the stitcher shall be adjusted as per the following sequence.
(1)Adjust the Stitcher Head’s Bending Foot Base as per the Folio Size
Firstly,place the stitcher head on the stitcher head’s mounting plate symmetrical to the midline(subject to the requirements of the saddle stitching concerning the stapling distance of the books).And then fasten the screw 27,and fasten the bending foot 20 after making it be aligned with the stitcher head’s middle knife,and install the guide plate 28 at the same time.
(2)Adjust the Book Gathering Chain as per the Folio Size
With respect to the stitcher,the book gathering chain shall stay at a certain correct position, so as to distribute the saddle stitching to the desired positions of the books.In case of adjustment,firstly,the book for binding should be placed on the book gathering chain,make the cropping press against the tail conveyor plate,and operate the machine manually to enable the book gathering chain and headstock move forwards at the same time.When their speed is the same,namely,they are in relatively static state,stop the manual operation,loosen the screw 1 and turn the handwheel 2 to make the book on the book gathering chain be transmitted to the right place for binding by the saddle stitch,and then fasten the screw 1,so that the proper position of the nail on the book can be guaranteed.
(3)Adjustment of the Position for Forking Book.
The correct position for forking book can make the books thrown out from the stitcher’s book transmission rack fall exactly in the middle of the two book-picking brackets of the three-knife trimmer.
Determination of time for forking book:when the cam 6 forks a book to the highest position,the connecting rod 2 pulls the headstock to left limit and returns,but it shall keep a distance of 60-65mm with the transmission rack.Then install the intermediate gear 1,so that it can guarantee that the book forked out can fall on a proper position.
It should be noted that the speed of forking book is closely related to the speed of the machine itself,and appropriate correction shall be made based on the use experience.
(4)Adjustment of Detection Device
The distributed detection mainly adjusts the reflective photoelectric switch and is installed in the relative position between the reflective films on the bar for falling books.The light beam is required to be aligned with the correct position.
Full page detection mainly adjusts the mounting height of the two reflective photoelectric switches on both sides of the book gathering chain and the alignment of the light beam. According to the position of the width of the binding book on the gathering chain,the light beams of the reflective photoelectric switches shall be made under the book papers with a distance of 5-10mm.If book papers are found skewed during the transmission on the book gathering chain,the book papers will shelter the light beam when they pass through the detection position,and the photoelectric switches will send a signal and dispose the book as obsolete product.
In case of adjustment of the general thickness detection,the normal books for binding shall be put under the eccentric wheel 1,operate the machine manually and make the arrow on the eccentric wheel downward;at this time,rotate the adjustment 6,lift the lower roller 3 of book detection to press the book at appropriate degree,and then adjust the nut 13 slightly, so that appropriate vertical gap can be left when the contact block 4 inserts into the middle of the two blocks 5.Afterwards,rotate the machine a circle,if the blocks can freely insert,it means that the book meets with the standards of normal thickness.When the contact points connect,the stitcher will be magnetic suspended on a binding position.
